@bauhaus_summer_school Cancellation 2020 – join us next year!
With regard to the ongoing spread of the coronavirus in Europe and across the globe, it is with heavy heart that the Bauhaus Summer School has made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel our this year’s summer school in August.

We understand and share the disappointment this may cause, but the health and safety of all who make the summer in Weimar so amazing every year is our highest priority.

However, we already have plans for this year and next year!
We will stay in touch with you via our Social Media channels and keep you informed about our course offers for 2021. Plus: Exciting virtual activities await you, stay tuned!

If you have already applied and/or paid for the 2020 programme, please check your email inbox for further information.

#artistsupportpledge campaign

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many artists around the world have found themselves without work, teaching, technical support, gallery work, exhibitions and sales have disappeared. In an attempt to help alleviate some of this stress @matthewburrowsstudio has instigated the #artistsupportpledge
The concept is a simple one. You post images of your work to sell for no more than $200 (£200, €200) each (not including shipping.) Anyone can then buy the work. Every time you reach $1000 of sales you pledge to buy another artist's work for $200.

This creates a small but dynamic market where all can contribute whatever their level of success. This is a culture dependent on the honesty and generosity of our artistic communities at every level. So, make a pledge, post your work with the #artistsupportpledge

Bauhaus Summer School August 2020 - courses are live!

Following last year’s success of delivering a drawing course at Bauhaus Summer School, this year Alex would like to share summer 2020’s knowledge.  Alex will be returning to Bauhaus Universität-Weimar to impart a two-week painting course this August.

Free Your Painting! The Bauhaus and Kandinsky inspired course will confront paintings’ agency, palpability, perceptibility, physicality, materiality and reflexivity (02 - 14 August 2020).

Bauhaus Universität-Weimar speaks for itself, along with BSS’s strength of attracting and hosting a rich international mix of students from Fine Art to Architecture.  There are only fifteen places available and it is competitive, so swift submissions are encouraged.

·       All Bauhaus Summer School – 2020 courses, 02 – 28 August 2020 are live.  Accessible via the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar website.  Instagram: @bauhaus_summer_school @bauhaus_uni. FB: @bauhaussummerschool
·       January 2020 - students can inform themselves and register for courses.  Registration and applications are open until 1 May 2020.  Early registration is advised.

Weimar August 2020 here we come!
